Penguin Prison is the latest artist with Neon Gold Records, the blog turned label known for exposing Passion Pit, Marina & The Diamonds and Yes Giantess. Neon Gold have kindly offered this original track from Penguin Prison which will be featured on his first released single coming out sometime this Autumn. You may have heard of PP through his great remix of Marina & The Diamond’s ‘I’m Not A Robot’. If not, there’s good reason to start paying attention to him now.

‘Animal Animal’ is a real fun slice of electro pop with bubbly synths reminiscent of the 80s. (And who doesn’t love the 80s?)

Penguin Prison’s voice holds up very well and reminds me of a mix between George Michael and Frankmusik. With catchy lyrics like ‘Animal, animal, I want to be’ and quirky ones like ‘I wish Mike Tyson was my friend’, Penguin Prison sounds like a real hot prospect.
