Happy new years – again. I have a feeling that this band will make it big in 2010, which is why they are spotlighted. Perfect first post of the year/decade.

I don’t remember who introduced me to the band HURTS. All I remember is that I was blog surfing one day, and came across a black and white video to “Wonderful Life” by some band I’ve never heard of called HURTS. There was a strange woman dancing beside the group, and for all I knew I thought it was a video from a couple decades ago.

But no, it can’t be – the music sounds like it belonged in the 80′s, but the quality of the song was high for that time. I then proceeded to search them up and do as much info as I could – and couldn’t get anything. All I knew was that they’re from Manchester, and the two guys are Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson. And they’re pretty damn good.

“Wonderful Life” is a perfect 80′s slow disco meets modern day electro-synthpop. The lyrics are haunting, and the video is interesting.

I want to get to know more and hear more from this band, but their Myspace is completely empty. Why so mysterious? And what’s even harder is that you can’t google them.

The Ulap Theme

Ulap is the theme used over at the Filipino Design & Creativity Blog: Plus63.net. Ulap is"cloud" in Filipino, it's a fitting name for a theme that believes content is king.
