_Chiddy Bang – Opposite of Adults (Music Video)

Here is the new music video for “Opposite of Adults” by Chiddy Bang. I guess the last one I posted was the promo one because this is so much better.

These guys kind of remind me of Kid Cudi. His career skyrocketed in these past years and I believe that’s going to happen to Chiddy Bang as well. Their music is dope, and again totally marketable.

_Rihanna – Rude Boy (Diplo Rudeboyz Remix)

Rihanna Rude Boy (Diplo Rudeboyz Remix)

When Rihanna’s video for “Rude Boy” was released, all I thought of was how similiar it looked to M.I.A.’sBoyz”. You thought that too. Even Diplo pointed that out.

Diplo also went on to make a quick mashup of both songs and posted it on his Twitter. I thought it would be a really interesting mashup, but when I pressed play it was just an overload of both of the songs sped up. Halfway through, I thought I was going to get a headache. I like the idea of it, but sorry Diplo, it doesn’t work.

Listen to it anyways, what do you think?!

_R.I.P. Alexander McQueen

2ed4kjt R.I.P. Alexander McQueen

At age 40, Alexander McQueen has influenced the fashion world throughout his lifetime. He was an innovative fashion designer, who wasn’t afraid of taking risks. When I found out that he has taken his life earlier this morning, I was devastated. He was one of the biggest designers that inspired me the most these past years. His crazy designs and artistic innovations are what made him successful.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so sad about a death of a famous person. Michael Jackson’s death was expected anytime, but McQueen’s was most shocking. Last season his Spring collection was one of the most talked and fantisized about, and the famous shoes and dresses have been spotted in most fashion magazines and a couple of celebrities.

I will truly, truly miss Alexander. Although there will be someone who will take over the company, the vision won’t be the same anymore without him. His McQ collection at Milk Studios in New York has been canceled, but I wonder if it’s ever going to be showed. There has been a McQ jacket and pair of pants that I’ve been eyeing lately, and I could afford it if I saved up enough. I think I’ll get it in memory of Alexander McQueen.

_The xx – VCR (Matthew Dear Remix)

I’ve reached 1000 tweets on Twitter! Follow me here

I haven’t noticed this remix of The xx’s VCR” that Matthew Dear remixed until now when YVYNL posted a DIY video to it. I only started watching because I thought the video would be interesting and quickly got hooked on to the remix.

“VCR” is one of the tracks that stand out from the dark minimalistic, foggy sound in their self-debut album. I could have never expected the remix to turn out even more poppier than it already was, but Matthew makes the song into a fun dance party.

Watch the actual video below. I’m so glad they’re doing so well because I’ve been rooting for them since the beginning and it’s definitely been a dream come true for them. I hope one day I get to see them live and experience an amazing concert.

_Vampire Weekend – Ruby Soho (Rancid Cover)

Vampire Weekend Ruby Soho (Rancid Cover)

LOL.

Last week when Vampire Weekend stopped by BBC Radio 1 they covered Rancid’sRuby Soho“. I haven’t heard this song in such a long time and it was refreshing to hear them cover it and make it their own.

I can tell Rancid fans and punk fans are not loving this…but I do. It’s such a fun pop-py cover, and totally their style. As a Vampire Weekend fan, I approve.

_Jónsi – Go Do

go cover Jónsi Go Do

Jónsi, the frontman of Sigur Ros, is ready to debut his solo album in 2 months. With already one song released, his still-to-be released album ‘Go’ is receiving much hype from music bloggers. Everyone has “Boy Lilikoi” in their iTunes library, and it’s getting constant rotation in mine. He sings most of the songs in English, with extravagant lyrics.

A month before the release, Jónsi is releasing an EP on March 15th titled ‘Go Do’ to excite us before the album release. The title track “Go Do” is the next track we are being offered to sample from the EP. No download link is provided but the full studio track has been posted on Youtube. The embedding is disabled, so you have to click here to hear the song. (What the heck!)

He also performed a couple of songs acoustically accompanied with an interview with WNYC, listen to it:

_Jersey Shore’s Snooki Interviews Phoenix

I’ve always wanted to get into Jersey Shore but I never got the time – it’s something I want to do though. Everyone talks about it! I feel like I’m missing out. I’ve only seen half of an episode once and it was funny!

Snooki interviewed French rockers Phoenix on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards on Sunday. Why am I posting this? Because it is HILARIOUS. She teaches them what the term guido is and she tells that one guy that he looks like Edward Cullen from Twilight.

_Beach House ‘Teen Dream’ Album Review

Teendream Beach House Teen Dream Album Review

Beach House -

Teen Dream

85/100

Released January 25th via Subpop

Beach+House+BH Beach House Teen Dream Album ReviewBeach House’s third album and Sub Pop debut, Teen Dream, was recorded in a converted church called Dreamland. The results are nothing shy of divine. The music is so magnificent, you could mistaken it all for a dream. But it’s the real deal, and it’s one of the first gems of the new year.

The band has not abandoned their trademark dream pop sound of electronic drums, clean and twangy guitar lines, and ethereal vocals from Victoria Legrand. Using this as a foundation, Beach House turned the notch up, delivering slightly more uptempo songs compared to their previous albums.

The opener “Zebra,” sets the theme from the get-go with a little drive and backbone to their float-provoking atmosphere. The band sounds more refined than ever before.

“Walk in the Park” lockdowns a tight grove with the beginning pace set by thumping electronic drums, before diving into a sweeping swell of organs, while later on in the same track, the listener tastes some mellowed down surf riffs as guitarist Alex Scally strums in a rapid fashion.

As the album progresses, each piece prevails at being audio art in the most perfect sense. On the pleasantly cheery track “Used to Be,” Legrand exercises her piano chops a polished pop performance, and the electronic drum track on “Love of Mine” sounds like a long lost 80s beat, while the first sounds of “Better Times” resembles an early Super Nintendo videogame, it actually serves as a sensually sleek ballad that centerpieces itself as clear standout in my mind.
