When Rihanna’s video for “Rude Boy” was released, all I thought of was how similiar it looked to M.I.A.’s “Boyz”. You thought that too. Even Diplo pointed that out.
Diplo also went on to make a quick mashup of both songs and posted it on his Twitter. I thought it would be a really interesting mashup, but when I pressed play it was just an overload of both of the songs sped up. Halfway through, I thought I was going to get a headache. I like the idea of it, but sorry Diplo, it doesn’t work.

Yeah they are similar but Rihanna’s is way way way better. I mean even the song “rudeboy” is better.

Hey Willis..guess what…M.I.A. was NOT the first person to film music videos this way. In fact, this dancehall style has very popular in the ’90s. So…M.I.A. wasn’t as original as you’re trying to make her.

And anyway, Rude Boy is a better song and a WAY better video in quality. M.I.A. may have done it first, but RiRi did it way better.

I simply stated that it reminded me of M.I.A.’s video. NO SHIT was said about it.
I do like Rihanna’s better because it’s a higher budget video. So don’t get all fussy to me about it!
