_Munchi – “Murder Sound VIP” (feat. M.I.A.)

MUNCHI MURDA SOUND Munchi Murder Sound VIP (feat. M.I.A.)

Munchi is some 21 year old kid from Rotterdam, Netherlands who is making a lot of buzz in the blogosphere. He remixed some lines from M.I.A.’s Vickileeks mixtape from an amateur software and caught the attention of M.I.A. herself. “Murder Sound VIP” is an M.I.A. approved track that could be able to fit in the tracklisting of Maya.

_The Kills – “Satellite”

2 The Kills Satellite

The Kills are back with their fourth studio album after 3 years of not releasing anything – enough time to reboot, write, and create more music. Their new single “Satellite” is taken from the April release ‘Blood Pressure’ on Domino Records, and features a grittier, grungier The Kills that you’ve known before. What’s funny is that I didn’t know Alison from The Kills was also the vocalist of The Dead Weather, because I thought this song sounded like a Dead Weather song.

_Young Galaxy – “We Have Everything”

SHAPESHIFTING 575x522 Young Galaxy We Have Everything

“We Have Everything” is a mesmerizing, dreamy pop song taken from Young Galaxy’s 3rd studio album Shapeshifting to be released next month. The beginning of the song is super hypnotic, and it just gets better from there. I’m loving everything that the Canadian band is putting out lately, they seem to be really underrated.

The first thing I do every morning when I wake up is check my email, and an email with this song made me jump out of bed this morning. I think you can tell I’m a big fan of Patrick Wolf, and the Richard X Remix of “The City” (which I posted just 2 days ago) is a fun, dance version of the already joyful track.

_Bright Eyes – “Haile Selassie”

bright Bright Eyes Haile Selassie

“Haile Selassie” the second single and a track off of Bright Eyes’ 10th studio album ‘The People’s Key”. You can hear the tiny hint of electronic influence that they’re trying to go towards in this album without forcing it in your ears. They’re releasing it for free which you can download below or at Spinner.

_Lykke Li – “I Follow Rivers” (Music Video)

Lykke Li plays the chaser in the video for “I Follow Rivers”, which is directed by Tarik Saleh. After this I realized that I’d love to watch Lykke in a movie, as this beautifully cinematographic-ally (?) shot, and she looks stunning in her heels while chasing her lover.

Patrick Wolf dives into a happier mood for “The City”, a single from Lupercalia, his 5th studio album to be released in May. It turns out “Time of My Life” was just a teaser single as this one is the official. Listening to this, I can understand why “Time of My Life” was just a teaser, because this is a bit more fast paced and suited for a bigger audience. I can totally see the Glee cast covering this song (not a bad thing). Throughout the song Mr. Wolf repeats the line “Won’t let the city destroy us/ won’t let the city destroy our love”, which is so very catchy.

_CREEP – “Days” (Music Video)

New Yorkers Creep have released the music video to “Days“, their debuting single featuring vocals with Romy from The xx. The beautiful video perfectly depicts their band name: creepy, glittery, and all sorts of strange.
