Why Are We Whispering is the new side and collaboration project consisting of Don Diablo and rapper Ish. Their first release is their remix of Martin Solveig and Dragonette’s poppy tune “Hello”. I agree with what Confusion said about ditching genres because this is basically a mashup of electro, rap, and pop. This remix gives the song a fresh vibe, as I was getting so sick of radio stations playing it.

_Peter Bjorn & John – “Second Chance”

Peter Bjorn & John have released yet another slamming tune off of ‘Gimme Some’, titled “Second Chance”. It may not be as upbeat and quick as “Breaker Breaker”, but the gritty, garage rock quality is still present. The guitar riffs after the 2 minute mark has a heavy rock/metal quality, and I’ve never heard a cowbell sound so good before. Stream and download the song at Stereogum.

_Sleigh Bells – “Tell ‘Em” (Diplo Remix)

Diplo remixes Sleigh Bells’ “Tell ‘Em“, and the arrangement and result is fantastic. It’s hyper, it’s fast, and it’s angry. Notice the Soulja Boy “Pretty Boy Swag” reference he sneakily incorporated into the song.

Everything Lykke Li does is so wonderfully magical, even if it is a 3 minute video of her stabbing sand with knives while wearing platforms. The video is untitled, and there really is no point in it other than make us awe at her charming beauty.

_Lady Gaga – “Scheiße” (Remix)

This has been going on repeat for the past 2 hours.

Lady Gaga knows that her fans can never be patient enough for her February 13th release of “Born This Way”, so she remixed a couple of lines from a track called “Scheiße”, a German word that means “shit”. It was played during the Mugler show yesterday during Mens fashion week, and the official video for the show was released this morning.

Of course, you know that I’m a huge loyal monster so I’m a bit biased here, but I LOVE IT. Everything Gaga creates is magical, wonderful, and leaves me speechless. Only thing I have to criticize about this is that it needs more bass. But if this is just a sample of what there is to come, we will all be blown away with ‘Born This Way’.

I don’t speak German but I can if you’d like.

_Everything Everything – “What’s My Name” (Rihanna Cover)

The boys  seem to be losing their minds and the alzheimer’s disease that Rihanna seems to have started is starting to worsen. Yes, it can be passed on. A sign that may indicate if you have it is if you ask the confusing and lifelong question: “What’s my name?” “OH NA NA WHAT’S MY FUCKING NAME?”

But seriously, everything about Everything Everything’s cover of Rihanna’s “What’s My Name” rocks. EVERYTHING. Jonathan’s squeaky vocals combined with the presence of some girl’s (whom I thought was Fergie at first) voice add to this unique, acoustic version of the raggae influenced r&b-pop song. A note to the band: your name isn’t Rihanna.

_Matt & Kim – “Cameras” (Music Video)

You never would have expected such a poppy, happy band like Matt & Kim to release a music video where they both beat each other up with their own instruments. But again, they did release a video where they got mass amounts of food thrown at them. They just like to destroy things.

Somehow I can’t help but laugh through this entire video. I saw them live when I was in New York almost 2 years ago. Both Matt and Kim are just so happy all the time…they always seem to cheer me up. Go see them live! You’ll know what I’m talking about.

EDIT: It seems like the Myspace video got taken down, I’ll replace it with the video from MTV that only Americans can watch.

_Cold War Kids – “Mine Is Yours” (Passion Pit Remix)

Passion Pit kicks off their first project of the year with an exploding remix of Cold War Kids “Mine Is Yours”, which is their first single off of their 3rd studio album of the same name, to be released in just 4 days via Downtown records.

Speaking of Passion Pit, I’m STILL waiting for new original material from them!!!
