_SebastiAn – “Organia”

 SebastiAn Organia

I’m a big fan of house music, so this totally floats my boat. SebastiAn and Ed Records are giving away a free download to “Organia” to celebrate the release of his album Total, which is a throbbing house track just over 3 minutes that doesn’t seem to be long enough.

_Concert Review: Neon Indian & Sleigh Bells

IMG 8077 1024x682 Concert Review: Neon Indian & Sleigh Bells

Last week I spent my pre-birthday night at the Neon Indian and Sleigh Bells concert at Starlite Room. Unfortunately I missed half of Neon Indian’s set but my friend Krizia caught me up and wrote about their set.

Neon Indian composed of Alan Palomo, Leanne Macomber, Jason Faries, and Lars Larsen are a chillwave band hailing from Denton, Texas. Performing their latest album Psychic Chasms at the The Starlite Room, I found myself intoxicated not only by the liquor but also by the harmonious melodies coming from the stage. It’s no wonder why they received rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork, Spin, and Rolling Stone. Their demeanor and stage presence screams out Terminally Chill with each member carrying himself with sobriety and ease. (more…)

_The Weeknd – “Rolling Stone”

Never have I ever posted anything from The Weeknd on here before, but I secretly have been adoring his debut, ‘House of Balloons’. They have in a way revolutionized R&B music and made it listenable to alternative music fans. (I don’t really listen to R&B, but I love them)

Their new song “Rolling Stone” is an acoustic tune led by just Abel Tesfaye’s pacifying, soothing vocals and a simple guitar melody on repeat. This track is going to be included in the 2nd album of a trilogy, ‘Thursday’.

_The Horrors – “Still Life”

The British post-punk band The Horrors are back with their first single, “Still Life“, a psychedelic, shoe-gazy track. With the success from their last album, Primary Colors, we have a high set expectation for their 3rd album, Skying, to be over the top better. So far, it sounds really good. The album is coming out in July via XL Records.

_Patrick Wolf – “House” (Music Video)

“House” is another cut from Patrick Wolf’s next album, Lupercalia, which comes out in just a couple of weeks. Just like the other tracks, “House” is a very sunny song with bursts of happiness. It’s hard to hate Mr. Wolf when he sounds so happy. The music video features floating objects and various kinds of animals. Towards the end of the video, the plants have emerged through cracks of his house, which looks quite beautiful and calming.

_Best Coast – “The End of the World”

Best Coast Boyfriend Best Coast The End of the World

Even though this should have been released before the Rapture, Best Coast covered Skeeter Davis’ “The End of the World” to celebrate our survival of the fictional apocalypse. It’s a really dainty track for the summer sunshine band, with the vocals and styling slowed down similar to Zooey Deschanel/She & Him.

_The Vaccines – “All In White” (Music Video)

One of my new favorite bands The Vaccines has released a new video to their new single, “All In White“. This beautifully shot and edited artsy video is NSFW, due to glimpses of boobs.
