“Morning After Dark” is the first single released off Shock Value 2 which is slated to have a line-up of big names in the industry.  When I first listened to it, I was not very impressed.  It’s the cookie-cutter Timbaland track that we’ve heard many times.  Also, SoShy isn’t even on the track that much, except in the refrain, which doesn’t really show us what type of artist she is.  Seems like they could have gotten any girl who could talk and put her on the track, because thats pretty much all she is doing. But SoShy is Timbaland’s new project so I am sure we will be hearing from her a lot. Nonetheless, this song is catchy and grows on you after a few listens.

Also, Shock Value 2 is slated to feature a lot of big name/Top 10 artists including Miley Cyrus, Keri Hilson, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, and Justin Timberlake. There is a tentative track-listing that has been released but no word on if this will be the final one. Looks interesting…

Michael Jackson‘s newly released song, “This is It” just recently started getting radio play and it has already become a huge success.  Interestingly enough, the song has already hit #1 on the U.K. Radio Airplay chart, according to Billboard.  Though there is much excitement over the new song, it seems that this song has already been released once before.  The song was written by Jackson and Paul Anka and was released in Safire‘s 1991 album “I Wasn’t Born Yesterday.” The song was first released under the title “I Never Heard.” I guess Sony didn’t realize this version already existed; or maybe the knew exactly what they were doing. Either way, it’s not gonna be one of my favorite MJ songs.  Take a listen of both versions for yourself.
