I usually schedule my posts for the next day, but this is too good to wait. Some of you have seen it already, but for those who haven’t: you should.

On Sunday night Beyonce broke a record of winning 6 awards during the Grammys, and performed a medley of her own. One of the awards won was Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her single, “Halo”.

Diplo and Switch from Major Lazer covered “Halo” and released it the day after the Grammy’s to celebrate this win. They mixed the song with raps all over the song, giving it a Jamaican feel.

I’d love to hear a remix of both songs like what some DJ did with jj’s “Ecstacy” and Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”!

Another note, why does that Jamaican (?) guy always have that gun? It’s creepy..

Major Lazer – “Halo” (Beyonce Cover)Stream

WOW.

Beyonce and Lady Gaga did a collaboration to “Video Phone”, and the result of the music video is what you would think would imagine: a diva hot mess. The video leans more towards a Beyonce type of video than Lady Gaga would, with bright bubblegum pop colors and tight, ghetto clothes. Guess Beyonce can’t really pull off that Gaga look that well. It’s tight, though.

Aah, the VMA’s. The night where most of us (half of which are Britney fans) tune in to watch our favorite celebrities perform on stage and pray for one of them to win a certain award. And most importantly, to watch the to-be-talked about and contrevorsial appearances on the show. And to laugh at the hideous outfits *cough*Jennifer Lopez*cough*. And to hope that Britney will show up (like in the past 3 years)

The 2009 MTV VMA’s started off this year with the one and only pop legend Madonna giving a very touching 7 minute speech about Michael Jackson, revisiting her memories and sharing them with us that she and Michael had and shared.

Right after that Janet Jackson and alot of dancers payed tribute to him, but it honestly wasn’t that interesting. Janet was only on for a little more than a minute near the end, and she lip-synced! The dancing looked pretty sweet though!

The biggest highlight of the night (which will be talked about for the next couple days) was when Taylor Swift won video of the year. I personally didn’t think that Taylor deserved it, the video wasn’t that great. Either Beyonce or Lady GaGa should have gotten that award, Kanye West even agreed with me, but that doesn’t mean that he should’ve went up on stage and created all that drama. His exact words when he ran up on stage in the middle of Taylor’s speech were:

Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best music videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!

He then shrugged and ran off. Lord knows how much he had to drink before that! He got escorted out with his ‘girlfriend’ Amber right after that though.

Then later throughout the evening when Beyonce one Best Female Music Video during her speech she told Taylor to come out to finish her speech, which was such a classy and nice move and made me appreciate Beyonce more than I did before. (Trust me, I don’t like her very much)

Kanye West also got booed every single time his name was mentioned.

Lady Gaga’s performance (and also a hopeful Britney appearance) were the only reasons why I was excited to watch the VMA’s. Lady Gaga performed “Paparazzi”, which for some reason included a handicapped wheelchair in the performance for about 10 seconds in the middle (I didn’t get it?) In the end, out of nowhere blood exploded out of her boobs and she died.

Speaking of Lady Gaga, she has such a creative fashion sense. I’m not saying she’s exactly fashionable, but she’s creative and different from the mainstream celebrities. Click on the thumbnails below to see her different outfits of the night:

SPEAKING of outfits of the night, Pink and Shakira showed up wearing the same dress on the red carpet which I found hilarious! It must have been embarrassing for them.

Britney Spears won best pop video, however she wasn’t there to attend, but there was a short clip of her and her dancers saying Thank you to the audience which was why her dancers told us to watch the VMA’s, not because she was going to perform!

Twilight’s new trailer for New Moon has also premiered on the show, which is coming out soon. Yes, I know most of you guys probably don’t care but I gotta say it looks pretty good (I’m a Twilight hater).

Lastly but not least, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performed a duet to “Empire State Of Mind”. In the end Lil’ Mama randomly popped up on stage, which none of us know if Jay-Z invited her or if she invited herself up. Alicia didn’t even look at her.
