_Friendly Fires – “The Edge of Glory” (Lady Gaga Cover)

friendly fires Friendly Fires The Edge of Glory (Lady Gaga Cover)

I’m a major Gaga stan, and also a huge Friendly Fires fan. The result of Friendly Fires covering Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory” on BBC’s Live Lounge is a starry and wonderful cover. People who never really liked the original are bound to like this. “The Edge of Glory” is definitely one of her more universal and cover-able tracks, and it makes total sense that they have decided to cover it.

_Lady Gaga – “Marry The Night”

INEZS 28129 Lady Gaga Marry The Night

Another song titled “Marry The Night” by Lady Gaga has been released on Gagaville, the Gaga version of Farmville. (Feel free to play here). Produced by DJ White Shadow and Fernando Garibay, the track is a great opener to Born This Way in many ways: it has a smooth rhythm and flow, it’s about her strength and love for New York, it ends with a bang and leads you into the title track, promising you a great dance record ahead.

This is the one track I’ve been looking forward to the most based on a 1 minute instrumental and a line that she sung for her HBO special, and also the only song other than Judas that has reached my expectations from the album. “Marry The Night” everything I’ve hoped for: the wedding bells, the ‘Muh-muh-muh-marry’ stutter, and the minimal music in the beginning. I know this is too soon to tell, but I’m going to say it anyways: this is one of my favorite Lady Gaga songs.

_Lady GaGa – “Hair”

gagahair 1024x1024 Lady GaGa Hair

Just last week, Lady GaGa released the promotional single “Edge of Glory”, an upbeat, happy song that went straight to #1, being pushed to airwaves last minute. One of the biggest arguments I have of it was that it was not ‘Gaga’ enough, and sounded a bit too mainstream but I ended up loving it anyways.

Today she released “Hair”, the 2nd promo single. I definitely expected a darker, fiercer song than what was delivered. (Based on the title, I expected the next big ‘fashion’ song like Bad Romance) The underlying beats and ‘happy vibes’ that the song gives out is very similiar to “Edge of Glory”. This song is great nonetheless, I loved it right away. There’s only 7 days til Born This Way comes out. Listen to it below, and download it on iTunes here.

_Lady Gaga – “Judas”

Screen shot 2011 04 16 at 12.37.30 PM Lady Gaga Judas4 days before the official release of “Judas”, Lady Gaga decided to rush the release, offering the download yesterday. This was probably due to the low quality leaks that were surfacing the web the day before. “Judas” is a smash pop record with heavy influences from heavy rock, and I can almost even hear melodies that Aqua might have produced. Fact is, Lady Gaga has taken a step forward with her usual dance tracks and ties in cultural references in the tune. The only thing that people might find irritating is her screeching ‘JU DA/ JU DAS’. I feel like this track might be a grower though, I’m loving it more each play.

Judas is hear to stay, so let the cultural baptism begin.

_Lady Gaga – “Born This Way” (Music Video)

Lady Gaga: Born This Way, Directed by Nick Knight, SHOWstudio.com from SHOWstudio on Vimeo.

Lady Gaga has came out with the music video to “Born This Way“. It’s directed by fashion photographer Nick Knight, a favorite of mine. A year after Alexander McQueen has passed away, she still keeps true to his aesthetic with elements from his SS10 show that are dominant throughout the video (graphics & print, horn makeup, shoes). I’ll keep my opinions to myself as I know they’re really, really biased. Enjoy!

_LADY GAGA – “BORN THIS WAY”

I’m speechless. I just want to say I am exhausted as fuck and I need sleep, but after listening to this on repeat for the past hour that’s probably not going to happen. This may or may not be a biased, rushed opinion.

Lady Gaga explores a whole new level with “Born This Way“. After hearing her singing the chorus at the MTV VMA’s last year, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. It’s fast, it’s fun, and definitely a track that will be buzzed about for a long time. Instead of her usual ‘fierce’ songs (Bad Romance, Alejandro, Dance in the Dark), she expresses a happier and whimsical song that will make the atmosphere in any club, party, or gay sleepover a lively, spirited environment.

I can’t wait for her Grammy performance. Listen to it below and a download will only be up for the next couple hours so you can feed your Gaga cravings until the official release: (more…)

_Lady Gaga – “Scheiße” (Remix)

00111 Lady Gaga Scheiße (Remix)

This has been going on repeat for the past 2 hours.

Lady Gaga knows that her fans can never be patient enough for her February 13th release of “Born This Way”, so she remixed a couple of lines from a track called “Scheiße”, a German word that means “shit”. It was played during the Mugler show yesterday during Mens fashion week, and the official video for the show was released this morning.

Of course, you know that I’m a huge loyal monster so I’m a bit biased here, but I LOVE IT. Everything Gaga creates is magical, wonderful, and leaves me speechless. Only thing I have to criticize about this is that it needs more bass. But if this is just a sample of what there is to come, we will all be blown away with ‘Born This Way’.

I don’t speak German but I can if you’d like.
