_Best Coast – “When You Wake Up”

To those of you who are familiar with Best Coast, you won’t be surprised to hear “When You Wake Up“. It might not be too surprising as well to hear that they are touring with Wavves. Together they are releasing a collaborative EP titled ‘Summer Is Forever‘ with new material, including this Best Coast song and a Wavves song called “Stained Glass”.

“When You Wake Up” is the typical hazy, low-fi beach pop song you know and will expect from Best Coast. If you slip it in their ‘Crazy For You’ LP, it fits in perfectly.

The EP is available at their live shows and also on iTunes. Listen to the Wavves track here. I didn’t post it because I didn’t really like it.

_Wavves – “Post Acid”

Wavves is back better than ever. His new single “Post Acid” has been officially released, and you can even download it for free using the widget below, from Green Label Sound. His 3rd album ‘King of The Beach’ is being released in August of this year.

“Post Acid” is a great punk-pop-ish track. There’s less ‘fuzz’ in it which makes it a little more enjoyable, and less annoying. It’s nice, catchy, and non-obnoxious while staying bratty and hip. If the rest of ‘King of The Beach’ sounds more like this it would probably be one of the best albums of this year.

_Jay Reatard’s Band A New Addition To Wavves

Last month it was reported from Jay Reatard’s twitter that his band quit on him, and he got mad and shared his thoughts on his Twitter.

Turns out that the band has moved on and joined Wavves, as they played their first show together rocking out to some tunes.

I know a lot of people don’t love Wavves, so why join in with them? You’ll just create more hate. (From what I see it as)
